Following careful consideration of the future of Motocross in Scotland it was decided yesterday evening, 30th December, at a meeting of representatives of the majority of the current event organisers, that a new direction was needed to secure the future of Scottish Motocross. The clubs in attendance unanimously voted to affiliate with the MCFederation as of immediate effect having had in depth discussions with Roy Barton, the MCF General Manager. There will be no changes to the proposed calendar of events, starting on January 29th, following retraining of officials and circuit certification. Each of the clubs will be sending out MCF licence application forms to their members early in the new year and day licences will be available at the events. Forms can also be found online at clubs.mcfederation.com
“Obviously for the MCF this is tremendous news for the continued strength of our organisation as well as great news for Scottish Motocross. We will be working closely with the new Scottish Motocross Committee over the coming weeks to get the clubs up and running with the minimum of disruption and assist in any way we can in putting together the Scottish Motocross Championship across all levels“ explained MCF General Manager, Roy Barton. “I have been talking to the Scottish Motocross Chairperson, Diana McLuckie, over the last few weeks and I am glad that I have been able to meet with the clubs and offer them a plan for the coming season that they believe can put Motocross in Scotland on track for a brighter future” continued Roy.
